Brent and Carlyn Basore (@hair_by_brentandcarlyn) had a fun challenge with their new client. Before coming to their Sagebrush Beauty Studios in Palm Desert, CA, the client “had requested a balayage hair color and ended up with a lot of brassy tones and harsh lines in her hair,” the Basore’s say. “The hair was very long and heavy and was not layered in a way that would give the hair shape and movement.” 

Here the artists share the details for this dramatic makeover:

STEP 1: ApplySchwarzkopfBlondMe in foilyage, blended with 30 volume and B3 Brazilian Bond Builder on the new growth, and 20 volume and B3 on the pre-lightened hair.

STEP 2: Lowlight in-between with Redken Shades EQ 6NA 7NA & 6N to balance and blend the existing color.

STEP 3: Process for 45 minutes and then shampoo with a silver shampoo and conditioner.

STEP 4: Tone with Redken Shades EQ 8V and 8GI with Clear and processing solution. Process for 10 minutes, then rinse and dry.
