CHI Color Director Richard Jordan lives in Amsterdam, a place that doesn’t see much sunshine during fall and winter. But Jordan doesn’t care because he’s worked out a way to infuse the sun into his clients’ color! His secret sunshine weapon? The new color technology in CHI Chromashine intense, bold, semi-permanent hair color. “With Chromashine,” says Richard, “any shade is possible with very little inventory.”

Color Formulas
Pre-Lightening: CHI Blondest Blonde + 20-Volume CHI Color Generator
Formula 1 (roots): CHI Chromashine Viva Violet + 2 drops Dangerously Red
Formula 2 (mid-shaft): CHI Chromashine Orange You Obsessed
Formula 3 (mid-shaft and parietal ridge): CHI Chromashine Grass Root + ½ oz. Pearl White
Formula 4 (ends): CHI Chromashine Mellow My Yellow
Step 1 – Section the hair in quadrants and apply Formula 1 to the root area, thoroughly saturating each subsection. Repeat this step throughout all four quadrants.
Step 2 – Once the root area is complete, move to the bottom of the nape quadrant. Leave a ½-inch space between the two colors and apply Formula 2 to the mid-shaft.
Step 3 – Begin melting Formula 1 and 2 together using a feathering technique with the color brush. To prevent bleeding, use a foil to protect the strands.
Step 4 – Continue working up towards the parietal ridge, applying Formula 3 just to the mid-shaft and Formula 4 to the ends. Leave a ½-inch space between formulas to melt the two colors together. Protect the hair color with foil and alternate this method to the top of the quadrant.
Step 5 – Repeat Steps 2 through 4 throughout the remaining quadrants.
Step 6 – Process the hair for 15 minutes; rinse thoroughly with cool water, shampoo and towel blot.
Step 7 – Apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes to reduce the pH, then rinse with cool water.
