Redken Artist Chiala Marvici, created a new technique: "Hand Pressed Color", a unique method of application that allows colorists to create custom, multi-dimensional color blends in less time than traditional methods. According to the release, the "versatility allows for an unlimited palette of hair color and is perfect for recreating the most popular vivid color trends seen today."
Chiala’s tools are specifically designed with the colorist in mind and allows the artist to create diffused patterns and seamless blends enhancing efficiency and creativity.
Application
Step 1: Create a center part that isolates the left side and right side equally. Secure both sections of hair.
Step 2: Working with circular brush strokes, apply formula #1 to the top of the color board. Next, fill in the rest of the board alternating formulas #1, #2, and #3.
Step 3: Staring in the nap, section out horizontal sub-sections up to 6” in length and no more than ¼” in thickness.
Step 4: Determine the desired angle and position of the paddle based on desired end results. Starting at the top of the board, glide the paddle completely down the length of the board, pressing color into the hair. Repeat additional glides for a deeper blending effect.
Step 5: Once paddle glides are complete, starting with the top of the board carefully peel the board down and away from the section to release the hair. Repeat steps throughout the left and right side of the head until all color has been applied.
Here Chiala shares formulas to allow this technique to Whisper, Talk or Shout, within the Rose Gold shade family that she believes are "perfect for clients who are looking to ease into vivid color or those looking to make a statement."
