STMNT Grooming Goods is expanding into the shave care category with three new additions to its lineup.
Volume, bounce and shine are always in style. Find out how to achieve all three in your next blowout service.

Jesse German
According to Jesse German, a color specialist and hairstylist at Martinez Samuel Salon in West Hollywood, CA, the three keys to a head turning blow dry are volume, smooth shine, and bounce.
“The perfect blow dry is all about prepping your hair with the right products to lock in your hard work, smoothing the cuticle of the hair down as you dry, and locking those ends in with the heat for a bouncy and sleek finish,” German says. “Most people forget to get the ends smoothed into the blow dry and that can lead to frizzing later on, so it’s essential to mind the ends for a perfect finish.”
He starts the process with Keratin Obsessed (new from Keratin Complex), misting it on wet hair to detangle and infuse hair with keratin to protect and strengthen. “It’s the perfect base for me to build on and to hold in shine,” he explains. “Next, I add in KeraBalm, a 3-in-1 styling aid that helps give my blow dry memory and hold and combats flyaways.”
If his client's hair is fine, he cocktails in Keratin VitaVolume, a volumizing foam to give lift to limp hair.
BLOW DRYER: “I like my blow dryer to be on high heat so I can really smooth down the cuticle and lock it in, but I move fast and make sure to keep the blow dryer moving a few inches from the hair shaft so as not to damage the cuticle.
BRUSH: “I use a three-inch ceramic round brush and roll the brush down towards the scalp, letting it cool before releasing it. This locks in the volume in the crown and away from the face for a soft, bouncy, sexy result that clients love.
FINISH: “I finish the hair by asking my clients to lean back, cascading their hair over the back of the chair as I spray Flex Flow Flexible Shaping Hairspray, locking in hold for them. This hairspray is awesome because it is a soft, brushable hold so they can run their hands through their hair throughout the day.”
“I love educating my clients as I’m blow drying their hair, explaining the angle I am holding the brush, the movement I’m making as I roll the brush (away or towards their face) and the products I’m using in their hair to achieve the result. I want them to be able to recreate this gorgeous look at home because they are my walking work of art.”
