Step 1: Apply Paul Mitchell The Color 4N + 5NB blended with 20 volume developer, dragging the color halfway through to the midshaft.

Step 2:  Process for 35 minutes.

Step 3: While the color is processing apply Paul Mitchell Lighten Up with 30 volume developer using a balayage technique into her base color. "I used the 'V technique' so more energy is at the bottom of her hair," says Ferreira.

Step 4: Process to level 8 (about 15 minutes).

Step 5: Shampoo with Paul Mitchell's Awapuhi Wild Ginger sulfate free shampoo.
