Chrissy Teigen likely serves an inspiration for many of the clients who come to you with pictures of their dream hair. The model is consistently on-trend with her enviable tresses—from bronde to a short-lived lob and everywhere in between.
Recently, Teigen attended the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Show and Tea in a oxblood, off-the-shoulder top and a cascading wave of hand-painted blonde locks over one shoulder. Celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham is responsible for the autumnal balayage, and Jen Atkin styled Teigen for the show.
Pravana stylist Jamie Muniz shares a formula to recreate Teigen's "fall-ayage" below using Pravana colors, lighteners and toners.
Get the color: Chrissy Teigen's Fall-ayage
Formula 1: ChromaSilk 6.11 and Pravana Volume Creme Developer
Formula 2: Pure Light Balayage Lightener and Pravana High Activator
Formula 3: Equal parts ChromaSilk Express Tones in Natural and Beige
STEP 1: Apply Formula 1 from the heat zone to the mid-length, then apply at the scalp all over.
STEP 2: Starting at the nape and working up, apply Formula 2 to varying lengths on each section. Overlap and pull Formula 1 down to meet Formula 2 where needed.
STEP 3: Once in the crown, move to the sides and work up to the parietal ridge, then into the top of the head.
STEP 4: Around the face and through top of the head, apply Formula 2 closer to the scalp to create fine, highlighted strands.
STEP 5: Process until desired lightness. Rinse and shampoo hair with Pravana Nevo Reparative Shampoo.
STEP 6: Apply Formula 3, starting the application in the back, working forward and at the base.
STEP 7: Apply Formula 3 to mid-shaft starting at the back and working up.
STEP 8: Pull Formula 3 through the ends for 5 minutes.
STEP 9: Rinse and condition with Nevo Moisture Rich Shampoo and Conditioner. Style as desired.
