Turn your client into an instant ice goddess with this blue cobalt haircolor using Matrix Color Sync Vinyls.
Created by Constance Robbins, a professional hairdresser based out of Los Angeles, Robbins specializes in dimensional hair color, cutting and styling with a focus on long hair.
Also a Matrix Artist, she works on US and Global projects alongside prestigious international artists on photo shoots, hair shows and video production.
Here, Robbins offers the formulas and step-by-step process she took to put together this look.
COLOR MELT:
PRE-LIGHTEN: 1 scoop Light Master & ½ oz. Light Master Oil Additive & ½ oz. 20 Volume MATRIX Cream Developer & BOND Ultim8 Step 1
FORMULA A: 1:1 Color Sync Vinyls Cobalt Blue & 10 Volume MATRIX Cream Developer & BOND Ultim8 Step 1
FORMULA B: 2 oz. Color Sync Clear & ¼ oz. Color Sync Vinyls Cobalt Blue & 2 ¼ oz. Volume MATRIX Cream Developer & BOND Ultim8 Step 1
SECTIONING:
Create a center parting from the front hairline to the nape. Next, take a parting across the top of the head extending from top of the ear to top of the other ear, secure sections for control.
BALAYAGE:
Apply LIGHTENER FORMULA to mid-lengths through the ends to prep the hair for tonal change. Process until desired lightness is achieved up to 50 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry.
COLOR MELT:
Apply FORMULA A to the new growth area, then apply FORMULA B to the mid-lengths back into FORMULA A for the ends.
HAIR HACK: Using your pointer finger and middle finger to blur the formulas together for a seamless transition of colors.
