Toni Rose Larson, owner of Hairitage Salon (@Hairitagesaloncarlsbad) loves turning "chemistry into art," she says. "What is this particular head of hair capable of becoming? What formulations can make this come to life? What will my project require?" One of her mottos: "Your Hair Is My Canvas And I'm Ready To Paint!!!"

This "Girl On Fire" look was created on one of her favorite clients, a client willing to change her haircolor frequently, giving Larson a chance to play on that canvas. (See below for the before shot.)
However, this "canvas" presented a couple problems. "This client is a UNNATURAL Level 7 with built up Pravana fashion Colors. She also has a full head of hair extensions!" Larson created this fresh fire look without removing the extensions.
Here she offers the HOW TO:
Step 1: Decolorize with Pravana Clear and 20 Volume mixing equal parts clear and 20 volume, apply 1 inch away from the scalp to dry hair.
Step 2: Process under dryer with processing cap for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Shampoo with ColorProof ClearItUp Detox shampoo. Rinse with cool water. Dry hair completely.

Step 3: Section the hair into 3 areas. Isolate a triangle section that begins behind her ears and ending at the occipital and crown of her head. Part the remaining hair down the middle and isolate the remaining 2 sections.
Step 4: Prepare the following formulations:
(Due to the fact client has full head of hair extensions more color is needed)
#1...4 oz. Pravana Vivids RED
#2...2oz. Pravana Vivids RED + 2oz. Pravana Neon YELLOW
Apply Formula #1...Re-touch her base, isolating color to regrowth ONLY. Work around the entire head.

Apply Formula #2...Apply color up to base color, taking 1 inch horizontal partings, pulling color down approximately 3 inches. ("This is the time to be creative!") Beginning at the nape of the head and working up towards the triangle section. Clip aside. Apply color to the 2 side sections and clip aside.
Apply Formula #3...Apply color up to previous colored hair, slightly melting color into formula #2 wiping your hands (gloves) clean of all color through out the application, pulling color down approximately 4 inches, working around the entire head, taking 1 inch horizontal partings and beginning at the nape working up towards the triangle section and then applying to side sections beginning at the bottom of her ear and working towards the top of her head.
Apply Formulas #4 & #5...Apply simultaneously. Wiping your hands (gloves) clean of all color during application! Apply formula #4 directly onto formula #3 slightly melting color together, pull color down leaving ends free of color approximately 3 inches. Apply formula #5 pulling color through ends. Using a damp towel to slightly smudge and remove color around her face, this will create lighter pieces, reflection and dimension! ("Again, be creative!")
Step 6: Process for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 7: Rinse with cool water for 10 minutes. Start at the nape of the head and rinse toward the crown, beginning at the bottom of her ears rinse side sections rinsing toward the top of her head. Rinse until water runs clear. Shampoo lightly with ColorProof CrazySmooth Shampoo. Condition with ColorProof CrazySmooth Masque for 5 minutes. Rinse with cool water.

Step 8: Style...Apply PureRelease Instant Detangle comb through hair. Apply Liftlt Color Protect Foam Mousse. Blow dry with round brush. Apply PowderFix Instant Volume Texture at her base to create texture & volume. Curl and spray with AllAround Color Protect Working Hairspray. ("I Recommended DrySpell Color Protect Dry Shampoo for her to use between shampooing at home.")
