With both festival and wedding seasons fast approaching, it's time to ramp up your braiding skills. The versatility of braids have made them a mainstay in upstyling, and we don't see that changing any time soon. 

Pravana Guest Artist Lara C. Kay created an edgy, side Dutch braid with tie-dye color from Danny Moon, Pravana guest artist and celebrity stylist. The placement of the color makes for a peekaboo effect in the braid and results in both the color and the style being amplified.

Get the look: Tie-Dye Dutch Braid

STEP 1: Starting on the side, spray hair with Pravana Nevo Super Shape hair spray to smooth.

STEP 2: Twist hair up and pin at the crown.

STEP 3: Start in the front hairline to create a Dutch braid (inside-out French). 

STEP 4: Work braid from one side of fringe down to the other side at the nape.

STEP 5: Pull hair into the braid from both sides.

STEP 6: Secure ends.

STEP 7: Loosen braid starting from the bottom and working up.

STEP 8: Using a pintail comb, loosen strands around the perimeter.

STEP 9: Backcomb at ends and smooth for volume.
