“This new client wanted to go lighter. She had previously colored her hair red twice. She also had a balayage 11/2 years ago. I suggested that in order to be as light as possible, she would need to cut a few inches, that eliminating the inches where the old balayage used to be would allow a more successful lift.”

Andrade was able to achieve this look in one session, six hours total. The artist cautions that results may vary based on the hair history.

STEP 1: Take one-inch sections. Weave halfway down the length of the hair or Insert the 3D Balayage®️ Comb under section - 3dbalayage.com.

STEP 2: Split that section into two subsections. Clip top section away.

STEP 3: Use comb on the bottom section to push hair towards the head (tease like effect).  Paint the bottom section in a V form. Lightener used: Oligo ProfessionalCool Tone.

STEP 4: Do not tease the top section. Paint a full panel to maximize the babylights closeness to the top. Repeat the same steps in one inch sections all over the head.

STEP 5: Tone with Oligo Professional 10-32 20 volume 1:1.
