Here Mills shares the details for what she calls a “Cotton Candy Shag”:
Color Formulas & process: All color byl Matrix:
Formula 1: Light Master and 30 volume
Formula 2: Light Master and 20 volume
Formula 3: Socolor Cult Bubblegum Pink=Clear Demi-permanent with 10 volume
Formula 4: (accent color A) Tropical Violet=Lavender Macaroon semi-permanent
Formula 5: (accent color B) 1oz Aqua Bay with 1” of Neon Blue semi-permanent
Formula 6: (accent color C) Disco Silver semi-permanent
STEP 1: Pre-lighten with Light Master and 30 volume (mid-length 1/2” away from scalp area). Process for 40 minutes, placing Light Master and 20 volume at the scalp area for the last 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition.
STEP 2: Apply a 2nd round with Light Master and 20 volume to remove bars from a previous balayage/root shadow. This was left on for approximately 15 minutes. Shampoo once with Matrix Total Results So Silver prior to toning.
STEP 3: Apply a global color with Socolor Cult Demi permanent Bubblegum Pink & Clear with 10 volume. Apply scalp to ends very quickly at the basin. Shampoo and rough dry.
STEP 4: Place back-to-back slices and macro-weaves with the 3 accent shades, adding in various layers to create dimension within the haircut. Process for 15 minutes then rinse, condition and blow dry.
