Kristin Grip (@HairByKristinGrip) of Tease Salon, Costa Mesa, California, felt she had a great opportunity with this new client. “I actually saw her on the Instagram explorer page and her current hair situation caught my eye. I sent her a message letting her know if she ever wanted to get in, I would make room for her because it seemed like a fun project and I knew I could do a lot for her.” The client responded quickly and said she was struggling with her hair and wanted to come in. “Her roots were virgin,” Grip says, “which is the main reason this color was achievable in one sitting.” Grip charged $450 for the color correction and $900 for the extensions.

This project took about almost seven hours, allowing 30 minutes to remove the old extensions, one hour to foil, one plus hour to process without heat (foils were pulled through as they were finished as to not over process), one hour to shampoo, shadow and tone and then 30 minutes to blow dry. Fresh extensions were added, taking an additional two hours (FMR- fifteen minute row application, 22” weft hair from YourHairShop.com. This was followed by a 30 minute cut and style. “It was a long process but worth it!”
