Redken Ambassador Patricia Nikole (@paintedhair) helped her client cover her gray regrowth and achieve a beautiful, blended balayage finish using the coverage melt technique using Redken’s Color Gel Lacquers Natural Natural (NN) Shades with Redken Flash Lift Bonder Inside. “Using liquid color is the best way to get blended, yet dimensional results,” Nikole says. “With the new NN shades, I am able to get ultimate shine and gray coverage and shift the base, while hair painting at the same time.”
Here the artist shares the details for the makeover:
STEP 1: For zone 1, blend 2 oz. Redken Color Gels Lacquers 4NN + 2 oz. 20 Volume Redken Pro-oxide Cream Developer
STEP 2: Balayage using 1.5 oz. Redken Flash Lift Bonder Inside + 1.5 oz. 20 Volume Redken Pro-oxide Cream Developer. Process for 35 minutes. Rinse with Redken Nature + Science Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner.
STEP 3: Gloss using 2 oz. Redken Shades EQ 09Gi + 2 oz. Shades EQ Processing Solution. Process for 20 minutes, apply pH-Bonder Step 2 Fiber Restorative Pre-Wash Concentrate for 10 minutes and shampoo/condition using Redken Nature + Science Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner.
STEP 4 – Styling: Apply 2 pumps of Redken Frizz Dismiss Instant Deflate Oil-in-Serum and then mist with Redken Iron Shape 11. Blow dry and then finish with a 1 1/4 inch curling iron and Redken Triple Take 32 Hairspray.
