"My client came in wishing to have silver hair," says Michelle Maspes (@hairbymichellemaspe), a hairdresser from Milan, Italy.  "First we started with a color correction. We made a second appointment for the silver toner because she had two 'self' bleaches with 40 volume that left her hair with so many spots and banding."

Here Maspes shares the details for the five hour makeover:

STEP 1: In foils, apply bleach with 20 volume developer directly to the darker spots.

STEP 2: Remove bleach with a clean towel.

STEP 3: Bleach (10 volume in 1:2 ratio) all over the length to create clean canvas.

STEP 4: Shampoo withFanolaNo Yellow shampoo (mixed with 1/5 Castor Oil).

STEP 5: Tone with 9.01 + 9.02 L’Oréal ProfessionnelDiaLight with 6 volume (equal parts).
