One of the reasons Mark Miletti has such a loyal clientele is that he offers great color results, has great taste and adds little "touches" that make his work just that much more special. Modern stopped in to the Mark Garrison Salon in NYC where Mark was putting the finishing touches on one of his favorite clients, Beth Minardi.

"These little lights that I add at the bowl just give a touch of sparkle," he says. "I put them right around the face and they really make a difference."

We watched as he put that sparkle on Beth after processing her single process color.  "This can work on any color," he says, "and is especially great for single process clients in the darker shades. It keeps the color from looking too inky around the face."

Mark applies the color using a baliage technique on wet hair and allows the color to sit for up to five minutes. The color is applied lightly at the root and gets heavier along the lengths to the ends. "I do this before glazing," says Mark. "In this case I am using the Joico Lightener with 10 volume developer. It gives a little bit of extra dimension and my clients love the effect...especially my favorite client: Beth Minardi."
