Harriet Stokes (@harriet_stokes) of Not another salon (@notanothersalon), Shoreditch, London, says this salon is quite special. "At Not Another Salon we specialize in color and color correction and do everything from balayage to bright vivids. We are all a bunch of misfits, who came together to one place to be accepted for who we are and our aim is to make you feel as ‘you’ as we feel every day." She adds that their purpose goes much deeper than great hair. "It's about change in mentality. Spreading the idea that it is in-fact ‘cool’ to be kind. We operate a strict no judgement policy and our clients are from every walk of life."
Here Stokes shares Louise's story:
"After home dying her hair, Louise decided it was time to put her trust into a professional and find a new hairdresser to achieve her dream color... turquoise. I first met Louise when she came in for a cut and consultation prior to any color work. Although Louise wanted turquoise, two strand tests revealed that we were not prepared to bleach or remove the mid lengths and ends color. This left me with a uneven difficult base to work with but in the end Louise got her dream color and no extra damage. Condition is key, you see, and I wanted to keep her lovely long locks on her head!"
STEPS:
Step 1: Pre-lighten the roots with L'Oréal Professionnel Multi-Techniques with 20 volume.
Step 2: Process for 50 minutes.
Step 3: Apply Adore Aquamarine all over and process for 20 minutes (which turned the hair blue.)
Step 4: Apply Crazy Color Canary Yellow diluted with conditioner to add a green tone over the blue to make a true turquoise.
