No matter which way you look, this New York Fashion Week inspired Side-Swept Pixie is undeniably chic. No longer a hidden accessory, the fan of bobby pins is edgy, playful, feminine, and cool. Learn how to create this Style of the Moment in just a few easy steps with L’Oréal Professionnel hairstylist Amit Abraham.
Side-Swept Pixie How-To:
1. Prepare the hair with Texture Expert Densité Thickening Primer and brush through to distribute evenly.
2. Blow-dry on high heat with a half-round brush to direct roots back and away from the face.
3. Use a small round brush to smooth and round out the ends and mid-lengths, while directing the hair away from the part.
4. Apply Texture Expert Or Graphic Golden Modelling Gel to hair on the lighter side of the part. Comb through to smooth the hair and distribute evenly.
5. Switch the hairdryer to the cool setting and smooth the hair with the tail end of the comb.
6. Apply Texture Expert Lumi Contrôle Modelling Nutri-Wax to the hair on the heavy side of the part for texture and separation.
7. Detail with the tail of the comb.
8. Insert bobby pins from the top down with the flat side on the scalp. Work from the front to the back until you reach the nape. Then go back and add additional pins in-between to give equal spacing.
9. For additional hold, finish with Texture Expert Infinium 4 Extreme Hold Finishing Spray.
