Nick Stenson is still inspired by the silhouettes and color designs presented in the Baz Luhrmann version of The Great Gatsby, released last year. "It's a look that really never grows old," says Stenson, Artistic Director of the JCP Salon group. "Stylists today get to put all those wonderful techniques we learned in beauty school to good use. To get these finishes, professionals must have great cutting skills, proper knowledge of chemical usage and true understanding of basic setting techniques." For this modern take on the "Roaring Twenties" design, Stenson relied on the foundations of finger waves and pin curls, bolstered by some innovative color placement. In these videos, Stenson offers an overview of each look.
