When it comes to creating blonde color, the goal is always to deliver a result that’s clean, clear, on-tone and polished. Whether you’re going for a warm blonde or a cool blonde, the color has to look flawless, and the hair has to remain healthy, because let’s face it—healthy color is your calling card as a pro.
Well get ready for an assist from Schwarzkopf Professional® and the new and improved IGORA ROYAL® Highlifts. It’s been upgraded with the new TrueLift Complex that simultaneously does the heavy lifting while neutralizing unwanted warm tones for optimal lightening results. You can also still depend on the IGORA ROYAL® Highlifts’ FibreBond Technology®, which builds a protective layer around each hair fiber to diminish the number of hair bonds impacted during the lightening process. There are also two, modern new shades within the 10- and 12-series that answer the call for on-trend blonding requests from clients.

Want to see the new IGORA ROYAL® Highlifts in action? Here are formulas and how-tos for two blonde options—one that’s as cool as an Arctic glacier and one that’s as creamy as fresh Irish butter.
Sleet Blonde
Before and After
Cool off after a steamy summer and take your blonde client into an icier realm. This IGORA ROYAL® Highlifts formula uses three new 12 series shades—12-21, a true platinum; 12-19, a cool champagne and 12-49, a metallic rose—to transform an ordinary medium blonde into a clean, clear, frosty hue.
Step 2--Apply COLOR 1 to the lengths in section 1, using strips of cotton to omit the roots.
Step 3--Apply COLOR 2 to lengths on section 2, top right, and continue using cotton to omit the roots. Repeat this technique on the other side in section 3, top left, with COLOR 3 and on the top center section with COLOR 1.
Step 4--Apply COLOR 4 directly on the roots of section 1.
Step 5--Apply COLOR 5 directly on the roots of section 2 and apply COLOR 6 directly on the roots of section 3.
Step 6--Apply COLOR 4 on the roots of the top section. Process, shampoo, condition and style the hair.
Vanilla Butter Blonde
Before and After
This shade complements a natural blonde base with a sun-kissed look that trends creamy rather than warm. It’s rich and dimensional, thanks to a combination of IGORA ROYAL® Highlifts tones, babylights and a few strategic balayage highlights.

COLOR 1: IGORA ROYAL® Highlifts 10-21 + IGORA ROYAL® Oil Developer 12% (40 Vol.) (1:1) COLOR 2: IGORA ROYAL® Highlifts 10-19 + IGORA ROYAL Oil Developer 9% (30 Vol.) (1:1) COLOR 3: IGORA® VARIO BLOND Plus + IGORA ROYAL Oil Developer 6% (20 Vol.) (1:2)

Step 1--Section the hair as shown.
Step 2--In section 1, work with heavy slices in diagonal sections and omit the hair in between. Apply two foils of COLOR 1, then 1 foil of COLOR 2.
Step 3--Repeat the technique throughout the entire section.
Step 4--In section 2, use a standard highlight technique, changing the ratio to 1 foil of COLOR 1 followed by 1 foil of COLOR 2 and repeat.
Step 5--In the front triangle section alternate 2 foils of COLOR 1 in babylight subsections and 1 foil of COLOR 2 in babylight subsections.
Step 6—Using a freehand technique, apply COLOR 3 on some of the lengths. Process, shampoo and style the hair.
