HOT TOOLS Artistic Director Detra Smith shows how to get beautiful waves and curls using the CURLBAR, a new Ergonomic styling tool by Hot Tools.

The ergonomic design of the tool is created to protect arms, elbows, shoulders, and wrists from the stress of repetitive movements.  The handle comes off the barrel at an angle instead of in a straight line which helps relieve strain when curling a full head.

A digital timer on the barrel can be set to remove the guess work and create a consistent, even curl pattern. The tool vibrates to notify the stylist when the time has elapsed and they can move onto the next section.

Smith illustrates how to create two different looks with the same set--smooth, 'glamour waves' and more tousled texture.
