We were led to this Winter Goddess via an Instagram post, and are delighted to share the work of Whitney Roberts (@whits_pics) who created the look. Honey Buns:

To create the Honey Buns, start by separating the hair into six triangles (2 on the sides, 2 in the back, 1 in the bang area, and 1 on the top of the crown). Once separated, place elastics around each section.

Separate each ponytail into two sections, and twist together like a rope. Once twisted, slightly pull on the sides of the hair to pancake the twist. This will make the twists slightly larger, so the buns can take up more space on the top of the head.

Wrap each of the twists into small knots. Play with the knots until they look like you desire, and secure with bobby pins. Be sure to leave the bottoms of the hair out, so you can create the icy, frozen ends!

Makeup:

Prior to applying makeup, I started with the Aveda Tourmaline Hydrating Cream. This evenly hydrates the skin, as well as helps to even out the complexion.  

FOUNDATION:

On the entire face, I used the Aveda Inner Light Concealer in Birch. This is a full coverage product, that can double as a foundation or concealer.  I also chose the lightest shade to keep her skin soft and pale, without making it white. Set with Aveda Mineral Powder in Cream.

FROST:

Next, you will use a white grease paint to lightly fill in her brows. You don't want the brows to disappear completely, so just fill them in until they look "frosted".

Next take a makeup sponge, and pat the white paint all along the hair line and down the forehead.  Don't be afraid to bring it up into the hair, as well as on some of the straight pieces left out of the buns!

The best part of this whole look are those glistening BROWS!! For this I purchased a kit that included a glue (similar to eyelash glue), small iridescent snowflakes, and a fine iridescent glitter. Simply brush the glue straight on the brows and start to pat in the snowflakes as you go. Continue working up the forehead in your desired pattern! Finish them off by patting the glitter right on top!

EYES:

Use Mac Pigment/Warm Snow, to cover the entire eyelid. Shadow the crease of the eyelid with the Aveda Petal Essence in Aura to help ad some depth.  

HIGHLIGHT:

Highlight the tops of the cheek bones and the bridge of the nose with the Mac Pigment/Warm Snow to match the eyes, and provide a soft shimmer.

CONTOUR:

Create a slight contour under the cheekbone with the Mineral Dual Foundation in Elm, and finish by dusting the apples of the cheeks with the Aveda Petal Essence Blush in Rose Blossom.

LIPS:

Aveda Blackberry for a bold lip.

For the final touches...use strip lashes without any mascara to ad a slight pop to the eyes. I found a glitter mascara from Rock Candy that we caked on (yes, I said CAKED ON) before the shoot, to give the eyes more of a frosted look. To finish the hair, mix your glitter with a light hold gel, like the Aveda Confixer, and brush onto the ends of the pieces you originally left out.
