Jay’s career has been a fifteen-year journey of excellence and focus. Starting at age sixteen as an apprentice for Sassoon in London, he rose through the ranks to become one of the youngest Academy leaders in the company’s history and eventually moved on to lead the prestigious Allilion Academy in London. As a platform artist, Jay has led shows and seminars around the world bringing his creative style of haircutting to stylists.
“The thing I love most about my job is having the opportunity to travel around the world teaching and inspiring others in the craft of haircutting,” says Mahmood. “I’m thrilled at the opportunity to be working with Goldwell and helping them to develop new education and artistry in haircutting.”
Jay will be based at the Goldwell/KMS Academy, London and begins his role as Global Artistic Ambassador for Haircutting immediately.
“Having Jay join our team is a huge step forward in expanding our creative offering beyond hair color,” says John Moroney, VP & global creative director for Kao Salon Division. “We are incredibly excited to continue to build our global creative team. Most importantly, it is about our promise to provide stylists with inspiring and dynamic education to expand their skills.”
