First job in beauty: Apprentice at Fernando Romero Studio in Beverly Hills, CA

Licensed: Marinello School of Beauty in Santa Fe Springs, CA, 1995

Three highlights of your career:

1. Getting hired as an apprentice at Fernando Romero’s Salon. Had no idea of how important it was to be working right in the middle of Rodeo Dr. Called my mother in my native country of El Salvador and told her about it. She practically fainted, she was so excited.

2. Going back to El Salvador as a Master Educator for Bio Ionic. It was a proud moment to be on stage with Fernando Romero, CEO of Bio Ionic, presenting to a room full of Salvadorian hairstylist.

3. Being named Education Director for Bio Ionic.

Beauty legend you respect: Kay Romero, wife of Fernando Romero, for showing me the way. She evolved in her role—from supermodel to CEO!

Choose beauty because: A career in the beauty gives women the opportunity to represent a standard in beauty that is more realistic that what we see in fashion magazines or on screen.
