Aprés Nail, creator of Gel-X®, was spotted at the Grammy Awards being worn by actress Laverne Cox, who hosted E! Live from the Red Carpet. Cox’s manicure was created by celebrity nail artist Eri Ishizu (@eriishizu) using the Gel-X nail system from Aprés.

“Laverne Cox is wearing a red Comme de Garçons archive dress. We wanted the nails to match, and be creative and avant-garde!” says Ishizu on the inspiration for the nail look.

These red foil nails also make a perfect, unique set for Valentine's Day, so don't be surprised if any of your clients come in asking for Laverne Cox nails! See below for the breakdown of the stunning Red Foil French Tip nail look.

How to Create Red Foil French Tips

  1. Appy Neutrals Gel-X Emma Natural Almond Medium Tips
  2. After securing the Gel-X Tips, apply Base Coat X over the Gel-X Tips.
  3. Cure the Gel-X Tips in an LED Lamp by Aprés Nail.
  4. Pad and press red nail foil onto the nail tip to create a French tip. It doesn't have to be perfect.
  5. Apply Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat and cure in LED Lamp.
