The Redken Artist Connection 2012 (RAC 2012) kicked off this weekend at the Red Rock Resort and Casino in North Las Vegas. Almost 900 Redken and Purelogy educators from around the world are attending to learn about the latest in trend, color, design and application, and to learn more about the more than 30 new launches planned this year.
It has been an exciting two days so far with the highlight coming on opening night when famed session artist and Redken guest artist Guido Palau offered his “Backstage” presentation. Palau took us through several of his favorite looks from past seasons and shared some of the rare behind the scenes challenges and excitement that comes with doing 30 shows each season. Five of the looks have been selected and will be broken down over the next several days so the artists will have a chance to recreate on mannequin heads in breakout rooms.
Another highlight came from the Pureology team of Ruth Roche, Wendy Ballenger and Natasha Sunshine who offered a stunning runway presentation to demonstrate the value of using the newly repackaged line to maintain beautifully color treated hair.
“As always, we are about fashion, science and inspiration,” Christine Schuster, Senior Vice President of Education, said to me after the opening ceremony. “RAC 2012 has it all.”
