Research and Development Drive GKhair

Jamie Newman | October 25, 2016 | 12:47 PM

GKhair invests heavily in research and development to continually advance the science of hair to deliver new and innovative products. Whatever your desires may be, GKhair is the experience your hair needs.

What business-building education does GKhair offer salons?

Hair color is a billion-dollar industry. There are many options to choose from. It’s important to exceed your client’s expectations. GKhair would like to reinforce your professional decision, by providing you with the facts to set goals with your color business. In short, we provide you with a high-quality product for the best results—in the most economical way.

What education and resources can a salon or solo artist expect to receive immediately, and then over the first six months, after switching to or adding GKhair’s color line?

When a client transitions to GKhair Cream Color, we provide them with a Color Theory Class. This class is usually customized to the specific needs of the salon. If they are newer artists, we begin with basic color theory and how it applies to GKhair Cream Color. If they are more advanced artists, we dive deeper into color theory and formulation techniques. The next step is to schedule a Tech 4-Day. We will usually do this on the salon’s busiest day and I will spend the day helping them convert their formulas from their existing color line to GKhair Cream Color. This two-step education process gives the salon a solid foundation to make the transition seamlessly. We will also provide continued education through calendar classes at Depasquale and other locations throughout New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

What is your most popular color education class or experience?

Color Correction and Formulating with Fashion Colors are the most requested classes. Because many people start coloring their hair at a young age, they are very interested to try fashion colors and even try to apply them on their own or at home. Color corrections are encountered daily in most salons, and stylists can continue to learn from these classes as every hair scenario can be different regardless of their amount of experience in the field.

What products or range of color is generating the most buzz heading into fall?

We are learning that blonde isn’t just for summer with the major ash sensation and bronde effects. GKhair has recently introduced its Bombshell Line specifically for blondes, which continues to pick up speed and momentum well after the summer months.

Who are GKhair’s lead colorists or educators? How can salons and colorists connect with them?

Our top five colorists in the U.S. and their Instagram handles include:

What contests or competitions does GKhair have that salons or colorists can participate in?
