Reema Jaber @hairbyreema of Mississauga, Ontario, fought against years of box color buildup to create this gorgeous, rich shade. Knowing the challenge of removing this stubborn dye, we were fascinated to find she did the work in one session...and here's how:

STARTING POINT: Client had years of buildup of black box dye and professional black dye with a natural level 7. Below is a photo of the "before."

STEP ONE: "I did a full head of foilyage with some back-to-back sections around the hairline and nape using Schwarzkopf BlondMe Lightener plus 20 volume, making sure to fully saturate my sections."

STEP TWO: "I then did a shadow root using Aveda Men’s Grey Blending Colour, 5Ash plus 10 volume for five minutes."

STEP THREE: "For the ends, I used Aveda Demi plus 8n + 4g light y/o + 4g light v/b plus 10 volume for 5 minutes."
