You can grow in all things beauty, all in one place! From salon to store to field education and beyond, there are many positions and promotions you—or a friend—can aspire to at Ulta Beauty. Check out these options, then apply at careers.ulta.com.
1. Find Flexibility to Grow
Ulta Beauty truly provides access to everything you need to start, evolve and grow a beauty career, throughout the salon and store. Start in one area, then explore another. Maybe makeup or brows are your bag, or a career in education is your dream, or moving away from the chair and helping others succeed is something you’ve wanted to try. All those experiences to move laterally or earn a promotion between or within services or retail are open, based on qualifications, business need and desire.
2. Be a Style Leader
At the Stylist, Master Stylist and Elite Stylist levels, our hair care experts consult with guests to deliver a broad range of professional services—from blow outs to balayage, extensions to corrective color, special occasion styling to trendsetting cuts—all to ensure guests with every hair type and texture look and feel their best. Unparalleled continuing hands-on and digital education via Ulta Academy is supported by exclusive Pro Team and Design Team.
3. Arch Upward!
Do you or someone you know aspire to be an arch expert? Through an exclusive collab with Benefit Browbar, Ulta brow waxing experts demonstrate and perform brow services and other short salon services including facial waxing and brow tinting.
4. Go for the Glow
Ulta Beauty Skin Therapists are experts who consult with guests to deliver professional product recommendations in professional skincare services in a retail environment. They are passionate about helping guests solve their skin care concerns and make them feel great about having glowing and healthy skin.
5. Manage Success
Salon Managers work behind the chair and oversee all aspects of salon operations and associate development, with an emphasis on meeting sales goals and setting career path goals for the team. This means recruiting, training, and coaching to ensure they have superior product knowledge, expertise in color, cut, and style, and excellence in guest service. The Assistant Salon Manager helps with much of the above, plus creating an environment that maintains standards of excellence.
6. Share Your Knowledge
Two critically important and recently expanded roles exist entirely to support all salon professionals at Ulta Beauty and help them succeed. The Services District Educators deliver all hands-on technical education for all services, while working one day per week behind the chair. The Services District Leaders assist salons in their district with service sales growth and are partners to the District Manager, who oversees all areas of Ulta Beauty store business.
7. Make a Strong Impression
Guest Service Coordinators assist guests and promote The Salon at Ulta Beauty by managing guest appointments and guest service standards.
8. Explore the Beauty Playground
With more than 500 brands and 25,000 products spanning professional, prestige and mass categories at Ulta Beauty, there are plenty of opportunities to evolve in retail, operations and merchandising management, too.
9. Audition for the Design Team
The Salon at Ulta Beauty’s Design Team is open to all salon associates—even those who don’t work for Ulta yet! It is a great spring board into education, exposure, collaboration with brands, working at major industry events and learning alongside industry heroes and mentors from the Ulta Beauty Pro Team. Beauty Advisors provide primary retail and guest support, Prestige Beauty Advisors help guests select merchandise and perform makeup applications, and product demos, and a Specialty Beauty Advisor or Specialty Artist focuses on select brands, like Clinique or MAC.
11. Reach for the Stars
The possibilities are beautiful and never-ending at Ulta Beauty, in so many directions. Regional Services Managers drive positive culture throughout salons by leading a team of 10-14 Services District Leaders.
