Jerseylicious is the number one show on the Style Network. Modern Salon Media was granted exclusive access when we were invited to watch "staff making over staff." We challenged Anthony Lombardi, owner of the Anthony Robert Salon of Verona, New Jersey and make-up artist Olivia Blois Sharpe to create a "Jersey club look" on new cast member, Jacquelina Bianchi. After a tasteful color application to add dimension and minimize the overly dark regrowth, Lombardi added extensions and curl for volume. "The mask is a fun touch," says Lombardi. "They are very chic this season, but using it as a headband actually makes it practical." Sharpe added her signature "wings" to accent the powerful eye design, balanced by a glossy soft pink lip. "It's a strong look," says Sharpe, "but hey…she's going OUT!"
We didn't know what to expect when we pulled up to the Anthony Robert Salon in Verona, New Jersey. Lombardi is one of the most interesting but less volatile characters on the show. He works well with other members of the cast, dispelling disputes, managing staff; truly the voice of reason. While we expected him to be a great businessman (and really good guy), we were totally surprised at what a great hair colorist he was!

For this look, Lombardi demonstrated one of his classic money making techniques: a foil high/low lighting with a gentle root bump. "In this case, I am doing a partial highlight toward the front and in the crown, with a few scattered lowlights throughout," said Lombardi. "The root will be lifted slightly as I love a little depth along the parting. I am going for a bit of dimension."

And here's her step-by-step Jerseylicious makeover:
Jerseylicious-1
1. This close-up of the regrowth shows an irregular highlight line and slight banding.
Jerseylicious-2
2. Using the end of a rattail comb, take a medium weave from ½ inch sections.
Jerseylicious-3
3. Place on foil and apply the highlight formula: Lakme Lak Blonde (powder) with 20 volume developer.
Jerseylicious-4
4. Highlights are placed in horizontal foils in the front, along the rounds and in the crown.
In the back, scatter some foil demi lowlights, all in the same medium weave.
Formula: 7/13 (Gloss Collection) a golden ash blonde with (Long Lasting Gloss Developer).
Jerseylicious-5
5. Foils are placed as shown.
Jerseylicious-6
6. For the last 10 minutes, place a permanent shade of high lift blonde along the root, between the foils to lift slightly.
Root bump formula: Lakme 11/10 Super Blonding with 30 volume developer.
Process for a total of 45 minutes. Shampoo and condition the hair.
Jerseylicious-7
7. Towel dry and apply a leave in conditioner throughout the hair.
Jerseylicious-8
8. Finger comb and blend the leave in through the hair.
Jerseylicious-9
9. Blow dry the hair using a squared off brush.
"I love these brushes," says Lombardi regarding his Bioionic collection. "The flat side allows me to grab the hair, but it still allows me to give curl and shape."
Jerseylicious-10
10. "Eyeliner ‘wings' have become known as my signature," says Olivia Blois Sharpe, lead make-up artist at both the Anthony Robert Salon and the Gatsby. "It is great for both day and night, but I pump it up a bit more for evening looks."
Jerseylicious-11
11. Lombardi goes through the hair with different sizes of curling irons to achieve an interesting and varied finish. A jumbo iron is used for the sections below the rounds of the head.
Jerseylicious-12
12. A smaller rod is then used for selected sections above the rounds of the head.
Jerseylicious-13
13. Before adding a clip in, the anchor section is backcombed at the base for support.
Jerseylicious-14
14. The weft is placed along the backcombed area and clipped in to place.
Jerseylicious-15
15. The top area is backcombed and then placed over the weft.
Jerseylicious-16
16. For a special accent a mask is used as a headband. Place asymmetrically and tie at the nape.
