Adele turned up the glamour at the Grammy Awards with a retro look reminiscent of the golden age of Hollywood.

To get Adele’s star making face, start with moisturized and exfoliated skin. Using a foundation brush, apply a matte ivory liquid base—if you need more coverage, use a creamy concealer and be diligent to cover every imperfection—this look is not about being a natural girl. Set your base with an oil-absorbing loose powder to keep the skin matte.

Using a brow powder, fill in brows with a color slightly darker than your hair—nice thick dramatic brows will help give you the “Adele” look.

Lush eyelashes are Adele’s trademark—if you’re not comfortable wearing false eyelashes, try extra coats of thickening mascara. When applying false eyelashes, the secret is to cut them into three pieces and apply each piece individually.  I like to use a toothpick to push the faux lash strip into the real lashes for undetectable glamour.  Follow with a light coat of mascara to blend the real lashes with the fakes.

Next, using a thin brush, carefully draw a thick stripe of eyeliner (gel liners are easiest to control) and slightly turn the line upwards at the corner of the eye forming a wing. If you make a mistake, use a moistened cotton swab to even out the line.

Adele usually favors matte nude lips, but at the Grammy Awards, she sported a new red mouth that worked perfectly with her Marilyn Monroe curls and waves. Red lips demand perfection. Use a red lip pencil and trace the outer rim of your lips and fill in the entire mouth to ensure the color will stay put.  Using a lip brush, fill in the entire mouth with a matte red lipstick. Dust a puff of translucent powder over the lips to set the color.

Finally, give your face a touch of color by swirling on a peach blush high on the apples of your cheeks.
