Naomi Watts may have lost best actress, but she looked amazing in an exquisitely tailored silver Armani Prive gown. And kudos to her makeup artist for taking a color cue from the dress and adding a touch of silver blue to her eyes. Her peachy cheeks, glossy beige lips and silver nails added to the chic effect.  And how can you be a loser with Liev Schreiber on your arm?

Congratulations to Anne Hathaway for her best supporting Oscar for Les Miserables. Her pale pink Prada gown and her sassy short tresses (her long hair is sheared off in the movie) were the perfect accessories for her golden statue. Her matte pink lips, winged eyeliner and full eyebrows were reminiscent of style icon Audrey Hepburn. Do I see a Breakfast at Tiffany’s remake in Anne’s future?

Jennifer Hudson did not walk the red carpet  - she sashayed down the carpet. Flawless in a blue metallic Roberto Cavalli gown, she personified glamour. Her blunt bangs and flowing hair were the perfect accent for her simple and soft neutral makeup that was punctuated by mile high false eyelashes.  I loved how she informed Ryan Seacrest that her makeup red carpet secret was to keep her lipstick handy for touchups.

Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence was a pink confection comes to life in an elegant Dior ball gown.  Her immaculately groomed eyebrows were the perfect frames for a million individual false eyelashes accented with soft blue eyeshadow.  Nude hued cheeks and lips were the perfect finish.  Extra beauty points for the chic frosty white manicure. Bravo, darling.

Jessica Chastain was the fashion favorite among the red carpet commentators – myself included.  She owned the carpet in a stunning, shimmering copper Armani Prive gown accessorized with simple, yet elegant, waved hair that echoed old Hollywood glamour. Bucking the red carpet trend of pale lips, she paired her black lined eyes with bright red lipstick and a copper colored manicure. Fabulous.

And finally, giving the young girls a run for their fashion money was a lithe Jane Fonda poured into a neon yellow Versace gown.  With her trademark messy Sally Hershberger shag freshly highlighted, she looked sizzling as well as ageless.  Smokey eyes and nude glossy lips were the icing on the cake. It’s hard to believe that Miss Fonda is 75 years old. I want her doctor’s phone number pronto.
