Healthy Hairdresser sponsor Biolage R.A.W. addresses clients' ingredient and packaging concerns while aiding both clients and stylists with skin sensitivities with new products.

In August, Healthy Hairdresser sponsor Biolage R.A.W. will be adding styling products to join the brand’s cleansers, conditioners and masks. Reaction to the hair care products has been overwhelmingly positive, according to Anna Manukyan, assistant vice president of education for parent company Matrix.
“So many salons have shared that Biolage R.A.W. addresses clients’ concerns about ingredients and solves product sensitivity problems,” Manukyan says. “This line is 70%-100% natural origin; ‘natural origin’ means that between 50% and 100% of the ingredient’s molecular structure is unchanged. So it’s an easy solution to clients concerned about sensitivities, product origin or environmental impact, and they can feel good about using it for the entire family.”
Working with the line benefits stylists with sensitivities. “Stylists’ hands are their most valuable tool, but they’re abused by washing, rinsing and the heat from blowdrying,” Manukyan says. “Biolage R.A.W. has helped to ease much of that stress. The products contain no sulfates or parabens but are formulated with many skin-friendly ingredients like coconut oil, honeycomb, coriander oil and other 100% natural essential oils.”
The minimized environmental impact gets raves from both salon pros and their guests. “Each formula is up to 99% biodegradable, which means it quickly degrades after use without harming the environment,” Manukyan explains. “Every product practices full disclosure so you know what it contains and where the ingredients originated. The Biolage R.A.W. footprint is tiny—each product features 100% recycled retail packaging.”
The hair care products come in three targeted categories—Nourish, Recover and Uplift—plus a style spray, Replenish Oil Mist. The new Biolage R.A.W. Styling collection provides a “naked touch” by producing results that are seen but not felt. The five high-performing products are:
Smoothing Styling Milk
Contains: Oat extracts and honey.
Great for: Smoothing and hydrating hair without coating. Leaves strands supple and soft.
Curl Defining Styling Butter

Great for: Curl definition without the crunch. Maintains curl definition for up to 48 hours while preventing frizz and softening hair.
Frizz Control Styling Spray
Contains: Lavender oil.

Texturizing Styling Spray
Contains: Matcha green tea.
