Jessica Collins (@jessicacollins559) of Pose Salon, Dinuba, California, says her new client came in looking to undo her ombre and go for more of a highlighted balayage.
"But before her ombre, she had box dyed her hair 'auburn dark brown'. After having a serious consultation with her, I took a look at her new growth. She was a natural level 3 and her desired level is base level 9 with highlights."
Collins and client were quite satisfied with the end result of a level 6 with level 8 highlights in a service that took 4 hours.
Here she shares the HOW TO:
Prepare formulas:
A - Matrix Light Master Powder Lightener 40 volume + Olaplex No.1
B - Matrix SoColor 1 ½ oz. 6N + 1 ½ oz. 30 Volume
C - Kenra Demi Permanent 1oz 6A + 2oz. 9 Volume
STEP 1: Using formula A, apply foil highlights and balayage highlght the hair between the foils.
STEP 2: Process for 45 minutes lifting to a level 6. Shampoo and condition with Olaplex #2. Dry the hair.
STEP 3: Apply formula B at the base to break any line of demarcation/new growth. Process for 30 minutes. Shampoo & condition.
STEP 4: Tone any brassiness using formula C. Apply at the shampoo bowl. Process for 5-15 minutes. Rinse.
