Expanding your hours and implementing double shifts is a great way to drive the most efficiency out of your space, but it can also drive a wedge in salon communication, because all the team members rarely are in the salon at the same time.
To ease communication, Jeffry Cipcic of Jeffrey Richard Salon in Grand Rapids, Michigan, implemented Team Book. This allows a weekly vehicle for management to share vital information with the team. “The information that is shared includes celebration information for goals that are attained, education updates and housekeeping issues that may need to be addressed,” says Cipcic. “Each team member is required to initial the notes when they have read them and are encouraged to add notes that they would like to share with the rest of the group.
For the Jeffrey Richard Salon, the team book has been a very effective, yet simple system to keep everyone on the same page.
