Floyd’s 99, a family-owned barbershop company with 107 locations in 12 states, is conducting a summer campaign to celebrate the way salons and barbershops help people celebrate their big life moments—weddings, graduation, baby’s first haircut and other milestones. To enter the “Life Changing Experiences” campaign, have clients go to the Floyd’s 99 Barbershop Facebook page and post their life-impacting experiences at the barbershop or salon.
Developed in partnership with rock star musician and cancer survivor Andrew McMahon of Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, the campaign raises money for McMahon’s charity, Dear Jack Foundation. This foundation increases awareness and provides support for organizations focused on cancer in patients ages 18-39.
“A lot of life-changing experiences begin with a haircut,” said McMahon. “It can be a powerful thing. I went through the process of losing my hair during my cancer treatments 10 years ago. Getting to sit in a chair for my first haircut after treatment was a way to celebrate for me. A lot of people come to Floyd’s 99 for haircuts to celebrate many different types of occasions and have a similar celebration. I’m proud to be partnering with Floyd’s 99 to help fans share these life-changing experiences.”
The campaign runs from June 12 through July 21 and is open to everyone. Grand prize winners will receive VIP tickets to be McMahon’s guest at his August 17 concert in Dana Point, California. Other prizes include a $200 Ticketmaster gift card, a Bluetooth turntable with built-in speakers, an autographed vinyl of “Zombies on Broadway,” Floyd’s 99 ultimate product package grooming kit and a year’s worth of free haircuts.
