As you introduce clients to lighter, brighter summer beauty options, be sure to complete each service with a personal recommendation on how to care for their updated style, along with a caring reminder about summer health. May was Melanoma Awareness month, but June truly launches the high season of outdoor activities and sun exposure.
According to the National Cancer Instititue, skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. Each year, more than 68,000 Americans are diagnosed with melanoma, and another 48,000 are diagnosed with an early form of the disease. Also, more than 2 million people are treated for basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer each year.
When you offer advice on how to protect the condition of clients’ hair and scalp, and the vibrancy of their new hair color, please also encourage them (and yourself and your colleagues) to build proper skin care and UV protection into their daily beauty regimens. Consider adding a professional skin care line to your retail area, even if you don’t specialize in spa services. It’s another head-to-toe opportunity to care for your clients and show them you want to enjoy many more beautiful summers together.
