It was a celebration earlier this week when ECRU New York invited the industry and press for the grand opening of its namesake Academy in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Designed to empower stylists by offering opportunities that will motivate and inspire performance, attitude and growth, the ECRU New York Academy is making available various classes each year for licensed professionals, such as "The Trend Report," "The Razor’d Edge," and "Cut and Style Progression." All programs are designed to set up stylists for both business and artistic success. “Our promise is to deliver superior education to stylists and makeup artists all over the world, expanding their knowledge, while ultimately allowing their artistry to flourish to new dimensions,” Carmen DePasquale, CEO and Founder, says.

The grand opening was quite the success. Hundreds of salon professionals and friends feasted and networked, and were treated to entertainment and presentations. Via guided immersive tours, guests experienced a sampling of the Academy’s vast array of educational classes, including Texture Exposed, the Artistry and Business of Hairdressing, and Photo Conception.Outfitted in this season’s latest fashion supplied by designer co-op, Flying Solo, models were on-site for live demonstrations to reflect the curriculum of the Academy. The artistic vision for the evening, led by ECRU New York Global Director of Education, Amanda Jenkins, ECRU New York Creative Director, Lisa Lobosco, and the ECRU New York Creative team, encapsulated the very essence of the ECRU New York Academy.

Jenkins found the evening especially rewarding. “Tonight, is all about celebrating our Academy and we wanted to showcase, through the models’ looks, a representation of the classes we offer and all the techniques and looks our students will learn." After pointing out that the team will be focusing on texture and structure in the courses for 2019, Jenkins adds, "What we wanted to do was really uplift the industry and continue to help educate hairdressers, making them more confident in their business. No matter what level of artistry you are at, we have a class that will complement you.”

Joe Mastalia, President of DePasquale Salon Systems, adds that the future looks good for their clients and future clients. "This will be the ideal destination for any salon professional looking for advanced education," he says. "We are offering all the tools necessary for success."

Professionals interested in attending Academy classes may look over the schedule and register here.
