OPI Is Bringing Back Fan Favorites:
Some OPI nail colors became such classics that fans clamored for their return. And OPI--as always--paid attention to what clients and nail professionals were asking for.
Bold brows and lengthy lashes ruled 2016. Here we take a look at the salon's role in amping up the trend.

Zendaya rocked full and feathery lashes framed by strong brows (by Kelly Baker) at this year’s Golden Globes. “Dramatic looks on a heart-shaped face such as Zendaya’s are achieved through strategic lash placement,” says Sophia Navarro, NovaLash VP global education. “Use a fairly uniform pattern of NovaLash American Volume 5D fans across the lash line and longer American Volume 3D fans on the outer corners.”
Many makeup artists will agree it’s important to choose just one feature to emphasize. In 2016, that feature was undoubtedly eyes; voluminous lashes and stand-out brows took center stage. From salon services to retail recommendations, there are a range of ways beauty professionals are bringing this trend to their clients.
For clients who struggle with thin or light-colored lashes, or those looking to kick their mascara routine, lash extensions are a business-boosting solution. With application options to suit every client, extensions can be made to blend into natural lashes or create a dramatic effect such as lashes flared at the outer corners.
Brows are still having their moment as well, from strong and defined to big, bold and bushy. Think Cara Delevingne, Lily Collins and Lucy Hale. Brow enhancers, such as RevitaBrow Advanced, are one method of ensuring brows are thick without sparse areas. Some brands are simplifying eye-amplifying routines by o ering products that treat both lashes and brows. Lash+Doctor serum from NovaLash revitalizes hair growth in both areas, Grande Cosmetics’ Grande Eye Opener is dual-ended with one side to condition lashes and the other to enhance brows.
A trending salon service that addresses thin-brow blues is microblading—the art of placing pigment under the skin in fine, hair-like strokes to fill in the brows and mimic missing hair. Less permanent than tattooing, microbladed hair strokes last about two years and require clients to return to the salon for yearly touchups. Cha-ching!
