Kimemily Pham owner and stylist of Excellent Hair Salon & Spa, Fremont, California, was there for Kim, a new client who "came in desperately asking for me to fix her hair. She had her hair done a day before at another salon where she they sent her home with damp hair. She didn't realize how bad it was until it dried."

Here Pham shares how she helped to transform Kim to what her friends call BREY, a blend of brown and grey.

Starting level: 3 darkest brown. Midshaft and ends were very brassy of a level 6 and 7.
Desired look: a lighter base color and to fix her supposedly ombré hair.

Step 1: Treat with Olaplex 1/4oz+ 4oz water for 10 minutes. Dry hair completely. Divide hair into 4 quadrants.

Step 2: Apply babylights, starting at the nape. Formula: Matrix Light Master lightener+ 20vl creme developer at zone 1, zone 2 ands 3 Matrix Light Master Lightener 20vl +Olaplex. Lay foil flat and do not fold.

Step 3: Tease the remaining hair. Apply Matrix Light Master lightener 30vl +Olaplex. No foils.

Step 4: Process at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rinse well, treat with Olaplex #2 for 10 minutes. Shampoo, towel dry completely.

Step 5: Apply Matrix Socolor 3oz 5N+ 3oz 15vl creme developer to zone 1. Stretch past zone 1 a bit. Process for 10 minutes.

Step 6: Apply Matrix colorSync 2oz 9p+ 2oz 8v+ 4oz 10vl creme developer to zone 2 and 3. Process for 15 minutes. Shampoo with Matrix So Silver.
