Haute Couture Defined...
For 2010 these diverse Haute Couture looks take inspiration from a blend of culture, nature, dreams and theatricals: Nomad Couture, Nature's Goddess, Techno Poetry and Midnight Stage.
Nomad Couture
Inspired by a new chic and the effects of modern mobility. Tradition meets modernity and is reinterpreted. This look witnesses a collision of eclectic cultural influences. Different inspirations come together to create new things that transcends cultural and regional barriers. Traditional symbols from diverse cultures are reworked with modern twists as strong acid-bright colors beat at the heart of this trend.

For hair this means it's ultra stylish-with structured cuts and a mix of different textures and styles in one look. A dramatic front roll is pulled back with flowing streamers of hair in a rainbow of bright, neon color. Alternatively use a front roll with a fan of hair in rich brown with multi-tonal highlights of bright color. The reddish brown tones incorporate natural base colors mixed with hot bright accents.
"I drew inspiration from lots and lots of travelling for this look, especially around the Far East," says Eugene Souleiman. "There are contrasts between the really dark ebony tones and vibrant reds that you find in a lot of art and design. Such true colors hints at ancient culture."
Nature's Goddess
Inspired by confident, assertive women. This look uses strength and enchantment of nature to burst richness and luxurious escapism. The palette is captivatingly feminine combining fresh autumnal tones of soft salmons and hot corals, with vivid aquamarines and luscious beige-browns.

For hair it translates into perfectly imperfect hair embracing flowing layers that embody feminine seduction. The tousled texture freely cascades over the shoulders for natural richness and movement. The color accents in hot apricots and gingers empower natural warmth. These lend a seductive density and lush appeal to hair color.
Josh Wood says, "This hair is show stopping! Vintage Gucci was a huge influence, best demonstrating glossy shiny hair and using strong shades of amber, orange and red color to set the mood." Souleiman adds, "I think of Brooke Shields-really laid back with sexy hair. This is about strong, sexy women who have the confidence to relax with carefree, textured locks."
Techno Poetry
Techno Poetry is all about dreaming with your eyes open. Dreams are no longer just illusory visions-they come true. This is a modern fantasy made real as urban living is made beautiful by technological innovations that take on softer, gentler and more poetically-inspired guises. Experimental design embraces this new-found romantic edge, surrounding you in surprising aesthetics and experiences, offering instant reprieves from hectic city living.
Techno Poetry
An urban yet poetic feel infuses Techno Poetry; gently embellishing our daily lives with a fusion of romance and futurism. Fantasy made real is the undercurrent of Trend Vision as the transparency and sheerness of its shimmering pastel blonde hues combine hyper modernity with a delicate innocence. For hair, this appears in soft feminine styles with different textures and movement. Color is ultra gentle-soft blondes are worn with subtle shimmering pastels in a gradation of playful colors.
Souleiman says, "This look is very romantic and poetic. I was inspired by relaxed versions of slightly dishevelled 18th century wigs as though the wind had been blowing through them." Wood adds,"These colors are slightly powdery, which I would describe as Alice in Wonderland meets 21st century."
Midnight Stage
Midnight Stage is like a role–play stage; it provides our lives with extraordinary enrichment.

For hair this means dramatic, decadent and edgy. Deep denims, indigos and cobalts play daring accents through the sheeny rolled and experimentally formed styles. Hair color looks jet blue and black with blue undertones adding the drama of the night. "I would say this is about multiple personalities for hair," says Souleiman. "Color is hugely important with this look." "Hair looks like it was lit in a nightclub," adds Josh Wood.
