How safe is your salon and how healthy is your salon culture? In conjunction with National Safety Month, this is the seventh June designated as Employee Wellbeing Month to spotlight the workplace’s role in helping to create healthy employees. The goal is to provide insight into how healthy company cultures drive employee productivity and engagement which, in turn, is good for business. Employee Wellbeing Month is sponsored by Virgin Pulse, the Strategies to Overcome and Prevent (STOP) Obesity Alliance, the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease and World atWork.
This year, Employee Wellbeing Month has issued a challenge to emphasize the connection between physical activity and good health. Each participating workplace is placed into one of four divisions. Employees track their activity for three weeks with a mobile app, and the winning companies receive a donation to their chosen charity. This can be a great way to motivate your staff.
