Rusk Artistic Director Gerard Caruso, was tapped to lead the Nolcha shows, presented today at Pier 59 during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC. Dozens of models were transformed by Gerard and team...some of the first to receive strong texture this season.
"We are looking at hair differently this season," he says. "Here we are bringing texture back. We are enhancing what most women have naturally."
The asymmetrical finishes were created by squeezing Deep Shine Mousse in to the hair and then backcombing small sections to create volume. "It's a great way to get texture without having a heavy or wet look," says Gerard. "Braids are added and offer some glamour, but its important that the braid is a bit messy. I actually backcomb a finished braid for additional texture. It's avant garde and crazy."
