Jo Blackwell-Preston creates stenciled foils to ensure better color results
Jo Blackwell-Preston (@blackwelljo),L'Oreal ProfessionnelArtist, is a master colorist and a true expert of foil highlighting. She has designed tips and tricks for making the service more efficient and techniques and formulas to offer better results.
MODERN stopped in to her Dop Dop Salon in NYC to just watch her in action. When she started to "stencil" her foils with the back of her comb, we had to know more. "It's just one more way to set yourself up to win," Blackwell-Preston says. "The 'roadmap' in your foil prevents bleeding and slipping. I use it as a guide and a bit of cheatsheet." An added bonus, according to Blackwell-Preston, is that it also ensures even saturation.
