Dylan Thomas (@xodylanthomas) of Sola Salon Studios, Las Vegas, Nevada, needed to tap into his artistic background (he paints on canvases) to help this client out of her box color situation. "Jessi had previous box color red over her hair from about two years ago," says Thomas. "She had never had her hair professionally done so I was so happy she trusted me with her locks. She wanted lavender, but I wanted to take her to an even cooler side of the spectrum, and was able to talk her into gray/silver. Ecstatic that she agreed!"
Here Dylan shares the HOW TO:
Step 1: Lighten the hair with Schwarzkopf BlondMe with 40 volume and a bond builder.
Step 2: Tone with Kenra 10a w/ 9 volume. "I added Blue Shots by Paul Mitchell to the mix".) Dry Completely.
Step 3: Dry the hair completely and paint the hair with a very light layer of Titanium by Joico.
Step 4: Process for 30 minutes.
Step 5: Tone with Kenra Rapid Toner SV with 9 volume for 10 minutes.
"This process took about 6 hours but we had lunch and were playing around during the appointment, so it's hard to be exact on timing."
