Don’t you just love a good mommy make over? This latest one comes from Franco Hernandez (@hairbyfranco), Huntington Beach, California. “After she had her second child my client decided to have a full make over and had some cosmetic procedures to restore her pre-pregnancy body. The hair was the cherry on top - making her one sexy flamingo!”
Here Hernandez shares the details for this makeover:
Model: Natural level 4 (brown) with about 4 months of grow out, mid to ends a level 9
Desired look: longer length, fuller density and in a bright pink color
STEP 1: Even out the canvas to make a level 9 (very light blonde). ApplyPravana Pure Light Ultra and 20vol (6%) in a virgin application staying a 1/4 inch away from scalp. Process for about 20-25 minutes.
STEP 2: Apply a second time to address the scalp area using the same formulation as step one (total time in all 45-55 minutes).
STEP 3: Once the lighting reached the goal, rinse in cold water. Shampoo twice, no conditioner.
NOTE: Chromasilk Vivids requires a clean canvas for better absorption no need to condition as it will condition in the process.
STEP 4: From root to end apply Chromasilk Vivids Neon Pink, Pink, and Sun Stone with an touch of Magenta. Process for 30 minutes. (Use this time to color the extensions to match.) Extensions used: BellamiProfessional Tape-in method, number 610 (golden blonde)
STEP 5: After processing, rinse thoroughly. The extensions are ready to dry but the model needs one more step to prep for her extension application.
STEP 6: Tape-in extensions need a clean surface to apply. “This gets tricky. You don't want to cleanse a freshly applied fashion shade, risking shortening or fading the wear-ability of the color. My go to isBrazilian Bond Builder Extension Repair Ionic Cleanser. With the spray bottle nozzle applicator, cleanse the scalp area in just one application, holding the ends of the hair to rinse out. This has really help me in situations when I can't pre-color extensions prior to the color appointment.” Blow dry thoroughly. Custom cut to blend (dry cut with a fresh feather razor) were necessary and style.
