This coming weekend, America’s Beauty Show (ABS) in Chicago has it all—from fabulous platform demonstrations that draw crowds to small classroom sessions that give you individual instruction. Added this year are Domestic Violence Workshops developed in cooperation with Chicago Says No More. A new law requires Illinois salon professionals to complete a one-hour awareness training about domestic violence and sexual assault in order to renew a cosmetology license. Currently, ABS 2017 is the only place you can enroll in the approved “Listen. Support. Connect.” course and earn the required certification—and it’s free of charge for ABS attendees.
