Alisha Jared (@AlishaJaredHairArtistry), a stylist/MUA at Siren Salon, Vancouver, Washington, had a situation. "My client came in with somewhat of a 'hair crisis'. Her natural level is a very ashy level 5-6.  She had a lot of banding from previous lightener not being processed long enough.  Her bands ranged in tone from platinum to quite yellow and she even had lilac and lavender pieces from a previous attempt with pastel vivids."

SOOOOO, Jared got busy, correcting to a very pale and cool blonde. Here she shares the how to:

Step 1: Apply to the banding Joico Cream Lightener and 10 volume cream developer.  (1:1 ratio) Take 1/8" subsections, beginning in the front, working to the back, taking special care not to overly on any of the level 10+ hair.

Step 2: Once applied to the banded area, immediately return and apply Joico Cream Lightener and 25 volume to the roots (1:1 ratio). Cap and process at room temperature for a full 45 minutes.

Step 3: Shampoo with Joico Color Endure Violet. Then tone root and mid shaft with Joico Chrome V9 and Chrome Activator. (1:2 ratio) on damp hair. Watch very closely for 5-7 minutes.

Step 4: While root and mid shaft are processing, re-apply Joico Color Endure Violet to her ends.

Step 5: Shampoo with Davines Nou Nou Shampoo and condition with Joico Kpak Intense Hydrator. Process for 5-7 minutes.
