Arda Itez, National Director of Education Lakme USA, used her friend for a show a few years ago. "He is half Mexican, half Lebanese and naturally a level 2-3," she says. "SO dark! I got him to agree to platinum because I was looking for shock value and to show the attendees how effective Lakme's ash series is when it comes to neutralizing warmth."

He LOVED it! He felt like a rockstar and was getting compliments left and right. We've done it on three separate occasions now, for three separate shows and workshops. He wears it for a while then let's it grow out because he doesn't trust anyone else to do the retouch for him and my travel schedule makes it impossible for me to do it for him on a regular basis."

Here Itez shares the HOW TO:

Step 1: Line the scalp with Lakme Master Care Scalp Protector "just to make sure he was comfortable should he have any sensitivities."

Step 2: To the scalp apply Kblonde decolorizer with 30 volume developer. Apply to the most resistant parts of his hair first, working from the crown outwards. "It's challenging to get it uniform on someone with such short hair."

Step 3: Process for 60 minutes then lightly shampoo with Deep Care Shampoo and cool water.

Step 4: Towel dry then tone with Gloss, ammonia free, demi permanent color. Formula: 1/4 10/17, 1/4 10/22 and 1/2 0/00 with double the amount 6 volume developing emulsion. Application same as before, beginning at the crown, work to back avoiding hair and neckline, which are done at the very end.

Step 5: Process for 8-10 minutes.
