Recently I heard about an herb called Gotu Kola, a small annual herbaceous plant native to subtropical zones such as Sri Lanka, Australia, Iran, Indonesia, Malaysia, Melanesia, New Guinea, India, China, Madagascar, and Africa. According to a Sri Lankan proverb, “two leaves a day, keeps old age away.” It is alleged that with regular consumption, it can contribute to staying youthful.
Li Ching-Yuen or Li Ching-Yun, Chinese herbalist, martial artist and tactical advisor who was claimed to live an alleged lifespan of 256 years was believed to have lived that long due to his regular consumption of Gotu Kola.
The herb increases body’s resistance to stress, trauma, anxiety and fatigue. It’s also mildly antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcerogenic, a cerebral tonic, blood purifier, adrenal strengthener, circulatory stimulant and diuretic.
