Yolly ten Koppel’s name is synonymous with powerful hair statements that stay at the edge of fashion trends. But, she didn’t always have a passion for beauty. “I didn’t want to become a hairdresser because my grandmother, uncle and mom were all hairdressers,” ten Koppel says, “and I was a kid who didn’t want to follow what other people were doing!” At 15, she began working in her uncle’s salon and realized her natural talent and love for dressing hair. Today, she is the International Creative and Technical Director of Pivot Point International, responsible for Design Forum, Pivot Point’s global trend collection, directing the artistic team, developing trend collections and curriculum, as well as teaching and training students, hairdressers and educators. Her work has appeared in print, on TV and stages worldwide.
